“Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories.” ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

in which i toss things out

i'm needing a blank white page here, if only for a while.  i need the empty space around me.   the silence.  these white pillows i am leaning against, the cat sleeping next to my toes on a white blanket, the sunlight bright against the windows, yesterday's thunderstorm.  all needed.  insert gratitude right here.

  1. I understand, I've done this same thing so many times - just a blank white pages with a delicate scroll of words at their heart. A breathing space.

  2. blank pages are the best. as are freshly painted walls. new beginnings. i have notebooks i've never written in, and never will, because i like that empty space, that possibility. this makes me think of fire, they way it always need something to aspire to, or it goes out. sometimes, you have to give life air, let it breathe.

  3. gratitude for the pause created by your beautiful blank white space.

(i love white walls. my apartment complex is remodeling and the walls are now taupe? beige? something like that. i like my walls better.)
