  4. well the last Christmas parade we went to, someone had a full-blown seizure infront of us. Luckily the fire brigade was marching past in the parade so they ran over to help. Actually, it was the most interesting thing to happen in the whole parade. I suspect sheer boredom induced that seizure.

  6. I was in a parade last night too. It poured rain the entire time. We were soaked.
    It was a gong show.

  7. perhaps you have never been to a small town(country style) once a year parade?
ours consist of tractors and manure spreaders! i often wonder what 'city' people
here vacationing think of our yearly parade. laughable. perhaps like yours.
however, laughter, no matter from what is very cleansing to the soul.
    in fondest.

    1. i have been to mostly small town parades - and yes, there were tractors & 4 wheelers & tow truck after tow truck after tow truck. a jillion fire trucks. a dump truck. it was just very very very VERY loud. every vehicle had a siren or a horn that sounded like a train or something else just as annoying. we wanted pretty, not noisy. lol!

  8. Maybe that's the charm of parades? That they are bad is just a given?
We have a Christmas truck parade.... all the dump trucks, cement trucks, cargo carrying trucks, any kind of truck really, completely smothered in lights invade the streets of Victoria. Kind of charming... absolutely, hideously tacky. And all the drivers honk their horns to the rhythm of jingle bells. A total assault on the senses.
