“Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories.” ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

the day before yesterday nothing happened

there were roses very red
and a cupcake very swirly
and happy birthday.
there were storms very black
and winds very bossy
and at lunch the waitress turned the too-loud music down
and remembered the extra tomatoes on my salad.

it was all i asked for.

  4. happy birthday! mine is coming up too but when you are born near Thanksgiving there is not much tadoo about it. i never fail to remember my beloved dad telling me my birth really messed up his deer hunting! said with a big toothy smile. i haven't seen that smile in 34 years, but each birthday i remember that. i would give up a few birthdays to see that smile once again.

  5. I am so happy you had a birthday that "was all i asked for". May you continue the perfectness of the celebration all through the month. Happy Birthday to you, can you hear me singing. I love singing that song at every possible day, it makes me happy as I hope it make you happy too.
