December Views 3: Paperwhites & Pecans

Paperwhites, look down, early morning white.
Pecan tree, look up,
fingers shading your eyes
against the glare of the December sky.
Blue now, and cold.
Christmas parade tonight
and if I were 12, yes, yes.
But this cold?
My house beckons,
with warmth and a purring cat.
Silence.

  4. So THAT is what a pecan tree looks like. Well...that is what it looks like when it is almost leafless.
And paperwhites...what a lovely name for a flower.
