“Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories.” ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Calm Space

I have to tidy up.

This blog feels cluttered.

My real life is too cluttered with emotions
and something's gotta give,
so I am cleaning up a bit here,
where it's so much easier.
After I post this
I will set about rearranging the furniture,
so to speak.
I need some space here.
Somewhere calm.

If you notice cat photos missing
or something else changed
that's what's going on.
I can always replace them later if I change my mind.

If you come here and nothing's changed,
well, then, that just means
I moved something from one corner
to the other,
didn't like it,
so back again it went.

I am lately feeling quite restless
and at the same time
feel that anything is possible.
Please bear with me.
It will pass
and I will find some poetry.
and now i must find that broom & set about sweeping

  1. I so understand this need for cleaning house, clearing out the clutter, both virtual and material. What a great thing to be doing!

  2. i'm feeling the need for change too and definitely a need for clearing out clutter in my home. i'm holding on until our 1 yr blog anniversary and T goes back to school.

  3. I always likes changing things around...looking forward to changes...or not :)

  4. Our eco has at least four changes per year (seasons), So,, why shouldn't you have yours,, Great photo..

ps. thanks for the lens info. I have been wrestling with that (macro)

  5. Poetic inspiration
    fuels the spirit
    accelerates the mind
    producing a rush
    of literary brilliance*,
    word on word,
    in perfect order
    a collage
    of sensory expression
    painting the mind
    with surreal images.

    *:'brilliance' is a relative term

  6. I love every words you wrote in this post, girl! You really rocks...

Browsing down and I found that you really an artist. I salute.

    Have a wonderful day.

  7. I think the 'unravelling' is unravelling...therefore the need to clear some space...but i love how you will find the poetry to help with this...that is so soothing.
i'm thinking of you...of the restlessness...of trying to clear some space.... More space for more magic...

have you thought of just sitting with this feeling of restlessness...and embrace it?...have you thought of what might surface? big hug to you xx

  8. I've spent my entire summer doing just that - clearing the clutter. Operation Paper, house keeping, a year's worth of work filing, and a lot of mental clutter clearing while on vacation. Feels good, doesn't it?

  9. Oh yes... the poetry is the best part.
    Thinking of you, my friend.
