become the sky
take an axe to the prison wall,
escape
walk out like someone
suddenly born into color
do it now.

A challenge by The 4.
By Maddie.
I spent this weekend doing nothing.
Nothing.
But needing that nothingness,
angry at the rain outside,
full of fear & sadness for Maggie,
growing weaker.
By last night I was better,
taking an axe to that prison wall of anxiety,
picking up a paintbrush with peace.
Escaping. Doing it now.
I walked out of it all
like someone born into color,
and suddenly, suddenly,
I understood this poem.
i am still in color
love the pajama bottoms.
ReplyDeletelove this image.
ReplyDeletei am sending you a hug-make that three hugs. one for the kind comments left-they have meant so much to me, the second hug includes a wish for Maggie to feel well, and the third is for picking up the paintbrush.
Oh, this makes my heart sing...that you found such meaning to this poem.
ReplyDeleteAnd it makes my heart sad, for Maggie. I will send love and healing energy through the airwaves..for you and for her.
xo
Julie - My faves. They have teeny white flowers all over them. :)
ReplyDeleteTricia - Three hugs!! I will take them. I have a feeling you know how to hug really well! Thank you!
Jaime - The poem just stayed with me & stayed with me. I wanted to suddenly be born into color. How wonderful that sounds! Maggie is getting a couple of additional drugs for her appetite, for her belly, for energy. She is fine really - not in any pain, just getting older & dealing with this disease still. She has taken to sleeping sitting up, and I must admit, it is pretty funny. I think it helps her belly (I read that somewhere; I have no idea if it's really true). As long as she is not hurting, I will do everything in my power to keep her happy & still with me. Thank you for the healing energy sent her way - I've no doubt it will help.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as your words persistently are. What kind of challenge is this? Didn't quite understand. Whatever, it is lovely with the image at the top along with the words.

ReplyDeleteDebi, thank you for stopping by my blog, Beelieve. If you had not I would miss out on this beautiful one of yours. I can not wait to explore it more. I also love your "no politics" badge. Yes, we do need to keep these web logs pretty.
ReplyDeleteI've no doubt you were born into color. All the colors, in every hue. But, most especially - blue.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's right on the money, I'd say! Thanks for the assistance in getting it! I might have ever understood what that particular poem meant.
ReplyDelete"take an axe to the prison wall"
ReplyDeleteThis is certainly great advise for a over-stressed guitar player locked inside her fear. Great advise!
Peace, Love and Hippy Beads,
