“Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories.” ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Entering the Weekend

I leave the week with something pretty.

A gift - a Christmas ball with a tail almost that of a pig,
and a bag with a different gift tucked inside.
Stripes of sunlight & shadow,
a blue chair.
In the background, music by Mink de Ville,
and in my hand a cup of ice,
baby-blue spoon sticking straight up;
I pour a little Coca-Cola at a time & eat it in bites.
The weekend beckons -
crooks her finger at me & bides me to enter.
I choose which door?
Oh, the blue one of course.
Of course.
my baby's got . . . the cadillac walk

  1. am i really first?! honestly when was the last time that happened? blue, and more blue...you are a true blue, blue girl huh? i like the little piggy tail but then again you have a little pig on your mind. maybe that's me who has a little pig on the mind. have you seen him trying to get in the door at robert's for cookies and milk? keep me posted

    "my baby's got . . . the cadillac walk"

  2. Halfway through the weekend. I hope it's been a bit more of a respite from the other night's episode to the hospital.
Oh gosh, now I have that old song, "Blue on Blue" running in my head! Do you remember that song?
Have you ever noticed how amusing the word scrambles can be when leaving comments on other blogs?
Here's the one for this comment: fraferoo
Now say that five times REAL FAST!!

  3. Robin - This liitle piggy would be trying to get in at Natalie's door - Robert only took photos. And from what I understand, as an adult, he can get up to 2000 lbs., so I don't imagine she'd want him hanging around on the couch! LOL!

Paula - This weekend saw Mary to the hospital for a bit - Lyndi was, of course, taking care of everything (too much falls on her shoulders), but it's still heartbreaking to just watch. Fraferoo on the whole thing!!

  4. This leaves me smiling. :)

Stripes of sunlight and shadow...can't remember the last time I saw the sun.
But I see it through you.

  5. Jaime - I so take for granted the sunlight. I guess it's understandable why so many cultures worshipped the sun - perhaps I'll start to do so also!
