“Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories.” ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Forgotten October image

October evening 2008.

Maggie near my shadow.

The leaves had not yet begun to fall.

  1. Oh, I love shadow shots! I've been playing with them some myself. That is wonderful!

  2. This photo is beautiful and haunting at the same time...

  3. Your shadow looks almost like a tree. Interesting ;)

  4. all that green grass still!!! you four make a great quartet!

  5. Mermaid - You are good. When I worked on this image, I knew it was about my attempt to cast some magic spell & keep Maggie with me always. It is about sadness & loss & that is okay.

Brenda - Thank you again. If my neighbor didn't work on his yard way into the night, I wouldn't have had the light to make this shadow! :)

    Celeste - Thank you, ma'am!

Eilandkind - What do you think our fascination is with shadows? The not real but yet real?

    Hele - Bless you.

Jaime - Yes, I am quite tree-like the older I get. LOL! I thought I looked kind of like Klaatu (is that spelled right? from The Day the Earth Stood Still. The original version. :)

Robin - Us four! I love that concept!
