Breathing Room

This painting on wood
always makes me think of a window high on a wall,
and room to breathe.

  1. hi there. it's me. ruthanne (although i'm signing in as anonymous. i don't have an account yet).

just wanted to say that your work reminds me somewhat of Georgia O'Keefe's. You have your own unique style but has the sensuality and subtle color as one of her paintings. she's one of my favorite contemporary painters. i think i have a book on her lying around the house somewhere. your work is truly beautiful and sensitive. i think you should put out more blogs as well as the paintings. and please make them as interesting and educational as your writings on that other site. like i've said before, out here you get to be "queen of your own universe." extremely empowering. i'll come back here often. xox r

  2. Ruthanne - muchas gracias! When I first began to paint, people kept telling me my stuff reminded them of O'Keeffe, but at that time I didn't know who she was. Later people said my stuff reminded them of Chagall - again, I had no idea who HE was. Of course, NOW I know, and it's extremely flattering, but it's nice to know I arrived there honestly!

I hope you do come back here, and yes, it is good to be queen!
